Join Trojan Archery’s Competitive Team!

All club members are welcome to join the competitive team to help us represent USC at the local, regional and national levels by competing with the Trojan Archery Competitive Team. We welcome undergraduate and graduate students of all skill levels. Even if you are a first-year archer, you can still join the competitive team! We have had many first-time club members compete, and we encourage you to try your hand at competitive collegiate archery.

Interested club members are expected to have developed basic form and minimum scores (nothing unattainable!) before attending team practices at Rancho Park or PRA. Our Team Captains will approach all interested members and evaluate their progress before a formal invitation. We hope to have all interested members compete in at least ONE tournament. If you are not interested in competition, but want further development, or you are unable to attend PED practice, contact us to discuss options.

Competitive Team Perks

During the fall semester, the Team competes in local tournaments at the Pasadena Roving Archers (PRA), as well as in scrimmages with other schools such as UCLA, Long Beach, and Cal State Northridge. During the Spring Semester, the Team travels to about 4-5 tournaments, regional and national. Participation is up to you!

Additional Coaching

Thanks to our incredible certified USA Archery Coaching Staff: Lvl 4 NTS-Coach Terri, Lvl 3-NTS Coaches Jim, Luke, and Brian, as well as former Team USA member and USC alum, Joe Fanchin, we are now able to offer more practice times available to our competitive team, specializing in barebow, Olympic Recurve, and compound archery.

During Team Practices, you will receive direct guidance from our certified instructors and coaches on advance equipment and technique in preparation for competitions.

Additional Practices

We provide additional off-campus practices on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays; and group workouts on Mondays and Fridays. You are not expected to attend every team practice, but you are expected to attend one Team (preferably Thursday) and one Club practice a week, plus one PRA practice/tournament per month. We also participate in Collegiate Joint Practices which take place on occasional weekends at other college campuses around Southern California.

How do I join?
