Fall semester saw many new archers taking up bows, and old team members working hard and setting goals. Spring semester is where all of that work pays off. Indoor competitions have already begun, and will be over before we know it. We’re so proud of our Trojan Archery family and the work they’ve put in, and we’re excited to see them reap the rewards at our upcoming tournaments.
Last weekend, we competed at the SoCal Indoor Collegiate Championship (SIACC) and walked away with Overall Team Third Place! With our most important indoor competition finished, we’re ready to begin on campus practice and beginner lessons for a new year of archers.
If you weren’t able to shoot often last semester, or maybe you were never able to attend a lesson, fear not! Our practice schedule has expanded and we have even more time here on campus to enjoy archery.
Before spring break, our on campus practices will be from 4-6 PM and 6-8 PM both Wednesday and Friday, in PED 201, South Gym. After spring break, our schedule switches to 4-7 PM Monday and Friday. Lessons will be held every practice for the first few weeks, and then as needed when there’s enough interest.
The New Year is the time to try new things, so make it your resolution to stop by a practice and learn a new skill. Whether you’re here to have fun and relax, or work towards a podium finish, Trojan Archery is the place to be this Spring, and we hope to see you around!
Best,
Mac Whitaker and Elizabeth Loxterkamp
